Been awhile

So, it seems that I disappeared from doing this whole thing.

But, now that life has calmed down a bit, I thought that I would get back into it.

I have been thinking about, what I wanted to write in this.  i think I'm going to continue with doing the game review.  Though, I do want to re-vamp this some.  I had an interesting review method, that I think that I'm going to contine.  Though, I think I may give more of a review on the fun.

I also, wanted to just incorporate some of my new fun.

Since working with BrainMaster, I've officially gotten myself into the IT field.  I've always been good with computers, and have always had a basic knowledge of programming.  But now, I have pushed myself to a new level.

I have taught myself the development of MySQL servers, and how to integrate them with C#.  This to me, is actually really fun.  I have also taught myself using InstallShield and other software releasing software.  Not, as fun, but interesting.

Other interests that I have picked up that has nothing to do with work, are Game Developing for Microsoft (Computer and Console), as well as Android App Development.

Both are actually very similar:  XML sheets with commanding scripts.  Microsoft games use C#, while Android uses Java.

The game that I'm developing is a Zombie Apocalypse RPG.  The major part of this will be the Sprite development, and maps.  I'm thinking about going old school 16-Bit graphics.  Not sure though.

My first app, will be mainly for me, and my siblings.  This will be an Arrested Development random quote generator.  This one will be far easier than my game, and with any luck can have this done with-in a month.  So, I think I will also be reporting on both of these, as far as my progress.

I'm going to try to do this about once a week in some form.  We'll see if I keep up with it.  I can be very ADD, and change my mind in an instant.

The 1000 Achievement Club: Bayonetta

Game Bayonetta
Type Action/Adventure
Company Sega/Platinum Games
ESBR Rating M - Blood & Gore, Intense Violence,Parial Nudity, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes
Players 1
Total Achievements 50
Online/Offline 50/0
1000 Achievement Difficulty 3 - 7/10
Minimum number of playthroughs 3

Bayonetta takes place in Vigrid.  The title character is a witch who and uses various firearms, along with magical attacks she performs with her own hair, to dispatch her foes. She awakens after a 500 year sleep and finds herself in an unfamiliar area with no memories of who or what she is. Over time, she begins to remember what caused her current predicament.

500 years before the incident that caused Bayonetta's memory loss, there were two factions preserving the balance between darkness and light in the world—the Umbra Witches, who are followers of darkness and their counterparts, the Lumen Sages, who are followers of light. The factions shared two distinct treasures, the 'Eyes of the World' that were separately named the 'Left Eye' and the 'Right Eye', which they used to oversee the passage of time. Both factions mysteriously disappeared from Vigrid under unknown circumstances.

Bayonetta still has an ornate piece of jewelry which contains a small red gem, and believes this gem is the 'Left Eye' of the 'Eyes of the World'. While searching for the "Right Eye", she often receives flashbacks that make her remember what caused her current predicament.

As far as games go, this is a good one.  Excellent story, non-stop action, fluid play controls, and beautiful graphics, make this a game that you do not want to miss.

The achievements for this game might be less than desirable.  Although a good majority of the achievements can be completed in a single play-through, in order to obtain all the achievements, 3 play-throughs is nessessary.  One on Medium, one on Hard, and one on Non-Stop Infinite Climax.

After playing through on Normal, and getting used to the controls, makes the Hard play-through none too difficult.  Though, Non-Stop Infinite Climax can be trying even for the very expirienced players.  If you would like, you can simply play through this difficulty normally like I did the first time.  Or, you can follow these steps that I learned through beating it for a certain someone.

Step 1:  Accumulate aprox 300,000 Halos
Yes, this does sound like it would be a very difficult tedious task.  But is not as difficult as it sounds.  First, is about 300,000 Halos. I don't remember the exact amount, but I know you will need around this amount.   You can earn this easily with-in one play-through.  Just work on stringing combos together, and work on earning Platinum and Pure Platinum Medals.  You will use this money to buy two important items:  The Gaze of Despair(Accessory), Selene's Light(Accessory) and the Durga Alt.  You will only be able to purchase the Durga Alt so long as you have delivered the LP that you completed in Chapter 5.  By having both Durga's, you will be able to equip a set on your hands and legs.  Once you have these three items, equip them and proceed to the next step.

Step 2:  Halo Farm Chapter 7 Boss
I could explain to you exactly what to do, but I think it would be easier if you just watch this video.  You will need to farm 5 Million Halos, before you can proceed to the next step.

Step 3:  Purchase the Climax Bracelet
Technically.  This item can only be purchased in Rodin's shop after you have collected all 101 Umbran Tears of Blood.  But, I'm not a big fan of technicalities.  With a pocket full of halos, level jump to Chapter 2, and head to the city plaza(Verse 3) and look for the telephones near the stairs.  You will stand in front of the telephone on the right, and do the following combination utilizing the D Pad:

UP, UP, UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, RT

You now are out 5 Million Halos, but you have the greatest accessory ever:  The Climax Bracelet.  What this does is make all of Bayonetta's attacks as if she were fighting bosses all the time.  This allows you to annihilate anything in your path.  There is one downfall.  While this accessory is equipped, the medals that you earn will not be reflected onto the Sega servers.  But, this does not affect achievements.  So, if you don't care about this, then you are good.

In the next 1000 Achievement Club, I cover the easiest 1000 achievements that ever existed.

The 1000 Achievement Club: Mini Ninjas

Game Mini Ninjas
Type Action/Adventure
Company Eidos/IO Interactive
ESBR Rating E10+ - Crude humor, Cartoon Violence
Players 1
Total Achievements 35
Online/Offline 35/0
1000 Achievement Difficulty 3/10
Minimum number of playthroughs 1

Be a Mini Ninja! The quest to defeat the Evil Samurai Warlord has begun. Control the powers of nature, possess creatures, use your furious ninja skills to free your ninja friends. Together, rise to the challenge and restore harmony to the world.

Yes, this is a children's game. What's your point? This was honestly a fun game, as most children's games are.

As far as achievements go, this game makes for an easy 1000 achievement points, so long as you pay attention to your surroundings.  For this game, I recommend that you simply focus on playing the game, and the achievements will come.

"Tengu Friend", "Stop! Futo Time!", and "Animal Friend" might glitch if you try to replay a level before you complete the game.  Doing this, will cause you to have to start a new game in order to unlock these achievements.  This is just a simple warning for all.

The only thing close to challenging in this game, would be the final boss battle.  The game is very easy.

Whether you are looking for some easy achievements, or looking for a game that's good, I recommend that you check this one out.  It is incredibly enjoyable.  Not too short, while at the same time, not drawn out.  Unlike most games for the X-Box, they don't bore you, with a over-loaded story line.  So, if you have Game Fly, or you happen to see this at a Game Stop used, pick this one up.  You'll enjoy yourself!

The 1000 Achievement Club: Bionic Commando

Hello, my name is Rob Milicia.  And I, am an Achievement whore.

If you couldn't tell by my blog site, I play video games on the XBox 360.  One of the fun things that this system added as an additional feature is Achievement.  Every retail game purchased has a minimum of 1000 Achievement points, and almost all games purchased on the consoles have 200 Achievement points.

The amount of achievements vary from game to game.  Some games may have over 50 achievements.  Some, can have as little as 5.  The achievements can be based on the completion of the game.  Some can be completely random.  For example:  In X-Men Origins:  Wolverine, there is an a achievement to find a Birthday cake.  Just that simple.

The way that people take to these achievements is different for everyone.  Some people really don't care much for the achievements.  They merely care about playing a good game.  Whether that be playing their favorite RPG, or playing with their friends in Call of Duty.

While others look at Achievements as the pinnacle of bragging rights.  The person with the highest achievements points, is the best player.  They usually do this by playing as many games, as quick as possible, getting all of the easy achievements, and making a dash to the next game.

There is also the Hybrid.  While getting achievement points is important, they also just like to play games, and get the most out of them.  This is my type.  I just love to play games.  But, at the same time, I love to complete games, and get the total amount of Achievement points.

While I don't have quite the time anymore to play games like I used to, I can squeeze it in here and there.  And, in this series of Blog posts, I will talk about the various games that I have gotten 1000 Achievement points.  I am going to bring up the ease of the Achievements, how many there are, Onine/OffLine achievements, a brief summary of the game, and to what kind of player would like the game.

So, for my first installment, here is Bionic Commando.

Game Bionic Commando
Type Action/Adventure
Company Capcom/Grin
ESBR Rating M - Violence, Strong Language, Blood and Gore
Players 1
Total Achievements 49
Online/Offline 49/0
1000 Achievement Difficulty 6/10

The first true sequel to the classic 1988 Nintendo Entertainment System original, Bionic Commando sees the return of the bionically-enhanced Nathan "Rad" Spencer, voiced by Mike Patton, the former lead singer of Faith No More. Time has not been kind to Spencer: 10 years after his heroic defeat of the Imperials in the original game, he has been betrayed by the government he swore to serve, imprisoned for crimes he didn't commit, and sentenced to death.

On the very day of Spencer's execution, terrorists detonate a massive experimental weapon in Ascension City, unleashing an intense earthquake that has turned the city into rubble and wiped out its population. With the terrain in ruins and the city's air defense grid now in the control of a massive terrorist force whose goal remains unclear, the FSA have only one option left - a behind-the-lines assault. The perfect job for a Bionic Commando.

Bionic Commando transposes the swing-and-shoot gameplay of the 8-bit original to a stunning 3D environment of towering buildings, suspended roadways and monorails, deep canyons and sheer rock faces, where every environment is scalable using swinging, scaling, climbing and wall-walking techniques.

As far as the achievements go, this game can be very agitating.  The actual achievements themselves are not difficult, but the saving system built into the game remembers nothing that you have done if you die before it saves.  So, you might get the achievement or the collectible.  But, you will have to get it again if you happen to die before the system save occurs, which can be aggravating at times.

All the achievements can be done in one play-though.  I would only recommend this for those who have the utmost patience, as re-doing a challenge, or re-collecting a collectible might be fun, but by your fifth or sixth is not so much.

This and beating the game on the Commando were the only difficult things.  Commando difficulty, didn't increase the AI difficulty of the enemies, it merely made you more vulnerable.  Most bosses kill you in one hit.  Larger enemies and snipers kill you in 2.  This leads to having to learn your area before you go swinging in like nothing is out there.

If you are an Achievement Hunter.  One play-through on hard difficulty, not being too thorough can mount you over 600-700 achievement points.  I would only go for all, if you hate to have uncompleted games.

Bionic Commando was a fun game.  It gave a dark look into the original Bionic Commando game.  I would recommend this to those who like re-releases of older games.  It was a fun game, that got old kind of quick.

That's all for now.  Tune in to my report when I cover Mini Ninjas.

My message to Boise St. and TCU

Play real teams.

It's just that simple.  You want compete for a National Title?  You want be taken seriously?  Then quit playing these weak schedules.  No one cares if they can beat New Mexico State, or Cuyahoga Community College.  Sure, they've played a couple of good teams here and there(and no, I don't think Utah was a real team), but you need to be challenged more than once every couple of months.

Let's take LSU for example.  I personally think that LSU should be ahead of both Boise St. and TCU, even though they have a loss.  Now, LSU may take on some gimme wins, like McNeese St., but at the same time, they have to take on teams in their conference.  Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, and Arkansas are just a couple of these.  I feel that Stanford, Wisconsin, and a couple of other teams as well should also be above Boise St. and TCU.

I think that it's pathetic that teams can take pad their schedule, throw in one or two good teams, and waltz their way into a big bowl game, while other teams are out there proving themselves week in and week out.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm not saying that Boise St. or TCU aren't good teams.  I'm saying that they need to prove to me that they are good teams.  And so far, neither team has done this.

So how can they do that?  They can always make their schedules tougher.  If these teams wanna play in the Mountain West Conference, that's fine.  But, you then need to make your non-conference games more challenging.  Another option, is they can make the jump to the larger conferences like the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, and prove your mettle on a weekly basis.

With all this being said, I am not going to Discount that Boise State is ranked fourth, and TCU ranked third.  But for their sake, I hope that when it comes to finishing out their season, they can win and prove they are not just a wanna-be teams taking advantage of how the BCS does its rankings.

Are the Browns truely a better team?

"Just wait till next year."  This is the coined phrase of countless Cleveland Browns fans, usually used around this time of the year.  Saying this makes us feel better.  It gives us hope.  Something to look forward to.  It allows us to forget about all of the horrid coaching calls, the pointless penalties, the incompitent offense, and a lack-luster defense

So, we have come upon the 2010 season.  There were many hopes I placed upon the Cleveland Browns.  For me, it was to be an escape from the Lebron James deciding to embarrass our fare city on ESPN, and the penny pinching Dolans continuing to decide that the Indians are better off being a Minor League team playing against Major League talent.

So, we are now getting into week 10, and there is an energy felt about the Browns, usually only felt before the season begins.  We are 3 - 5, and once again, fans are actually excited to watch them.  Though only improved by 2 wins, the question still remains:  Are we better then last year?

The answer is yes.

Standing at 3 - 5, the Cleveland Browns have been in every single game played this year, and can easily be 6 - 2 if things had gone there way. But, as Homer Simpson said it best "If ifs and buts were candies and nuts, then, how does the rest of that go?"

We aren't 6 - 2.  But, for one time in a long while, I am actually looking forward to the rest of this year, and when I say "Just wait till next year"  I don't mean, it's gonna take 7 months for me to forget how god awful the Browns really are.  I mean that I actually can't wait to see what the Brownies are going to grow and develop into.  They have grown tremendously, even from the beginning of this year, and are getting better every game.

So, as the week draws to an end, I say bring on the blow hard Rex Ryan.  Let's see old Stone Hand Braylon Edwards, and let's see if the Browns can pull out another win!
